Programme 01
One-to-one instruction with a qualified specialist. We pay the provider directly, so the cost never reaches your kitchen table.

How it works
This is our primary initiative. Scholarships cover one-to-one tutoring with qualified specialists using Orton-Gillingham or equivalent structured literacy methodologies. We partner with vetted tutoring providers, reading clinics, and certified practitioners across Kansas City, Blue Springs, and Independence.
Families apply to the foundation. Once eligibility is determined, we pay approved providers directly for approved services. No family is asked to front the cost and seek reimbursement.
Qualified dyslexia tutors in this area charge roughly $30–$100 per hour, and an effective course of intervention generally requires 80–200 hours. That places the full cost between $2,400 and $20,000 per child. For families on low incomes, that is not a stretch — it is an impossibility.
We recommend providers matched to the child’s profile, the methodology their needs call for, and the family’s location and schedule. We confirm availability before presenting options. The final choice belongs to the family, from among approved providers.
Demonstrated training in structured, sequential, explicit phonics instruction. Progress monitoring on validated measures. Quarterly outcome reporting. Satisfactory family feedback. Providers who meet the standard continue receiving referrals; those who fall short receive improvement requirements or leave the network.
